‘In That Hollow’ Book Reviews
“In That Hollow presents readers with that rare gift: poems so lyrical and haunting you can see, hear, smell and taste them. Unforgettable.”
Leslie Morgan Steiner, author of Crazy Love and Mommy Wars
In That Hollow, “the story of life after midnight,” Shahzad Kavoossi Farzad writes,”you must create your own moon and stars.” Sliding into the darkness of death and loss, the poems in this collection light the way and glow with magic. Inspired by Omar Khayyam and the ancient Persian tradition of revealing beauty in the mystery of loss, she moves between reality and evanescence toward a poetry of the spirit.
Dr. Carol Peirce, Editor, Deus Loci University of Baltimore
In That Hollow begins with the subject of the physical body, and effortlessly moves through the journey of life. Daydreams, visions, and reality are melded together. Mourning for loved ones is intertwined with life, as part of the overall voyage. Most appropriately, the book ends with “the perfume of love that is lifting me from the earth.” The complexities of human life in an honest, sincere, and straight-forward manner, through simple, yet touching words.
Dr. Majid Naini, author of “Mysteries of the Universe
and Rumi’s Discoveries on the Majestic path of Love”.
